Coding Bootcamp (25.11-29.11.2024)

Our dedicated developers team Marta, Stanisław, Piotr, Jarosław, and Head of Development Max attended Bootcamp, giving their all to deliver solutions on time.

During 5 busy days, they were working on a database migration to ensure smoother operations and improved performance.

WHAT WAS DONE DURING 5 DAYS?

We replaced the data storage system of our customer’s financial transaction platform, migrating from file storage to MariaDB. This task was particularly challenging as the system processes up to 50 transactions per second and operates within a legacy application framework. The framework is highly intricate, featuring custom-built nodes to handle failover scenarios and other complexities.

WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT?

Marta led the project, and the entire team – including Jarek, Piotr, Stasiu, and Max – collaborated closely during the bootcamp. To focus on this critical task, we temporarily paused work on our two other projects.

WHY A BOOTCAMP?

The bootcamp was necessary because accurately estimating the migration effort was almost impossible given the complexity of the legacy environment and the suboptimal design of the prior application framework. Each solved issue revealed new challenges, making the task increasingly complicated and unpredictable. Moreover, the strict market deadline was non-negotiable. This intensive effort allowed us to pool all our expertise, maximize performance, and explore every possible solution to successfully complete the migration.
