Last year, a group of our employees went to Hockenheim in Germany to support our partner team RN Vision STS in the ADAC GT4 series. This year, the motorsports enthusiasts amongst us had another opportunity to go to a race event and experience the smell of gasoline and burned tires. They were invited to the 2019 season finale of the ADAC GT4 racing series, which took place at the Sachsenring in Germany.
Just like last year, the participants had the opportunity to visit the paddock and watch the preparations of all racing series that were present at that weekend, such as the ADAC Formel 4, Porsche Carrera Cup, ADAC TCR Germany, ADAC GT Masters and of course the ADAC GT4. Behind the scenes, they could observe the work of the RN Vision STS team and discuss technical details of the Race Navigator system, which is manufactured by Macrix.
However, our employees did not go to Germany just to visit the paddock, but also to watch the races and cheer for our partner team. The level of excitement was high, because RN Vision STS went into the final weekend as the leader of the ADAC GT4’s drivers and constructors’ classifications! In Saturday’s race, the drivers Gabriele Piana and Marius Zug had to start from 20th place after a botched qualifying. However, in the one-hour-race they fought their way back to 4th place! Unfortunately, luck was not on their side. Five minutes before the end of Saturday’s race, the RN Vision STS car became involved in a collision and dropped to 8th place. Sunday’s race was not finished. The disappointment over these lacklustre results could not overshadow the general satisfaction with an excellent second place in the general classification.
Next year, the RN Vision STS team will again fight for top positions, and the Macrix employees will certainly support them on one of the German racetracks. Maybe you too would like to join us?
